Good Samaritan Tries to Break Up Child Custody Fight

A good Samaritan was stabbed last week when trying to break up a child custody fight between two parents.

The fight began around 2:20 a.m. in the 17300 block of E. Adriatic Place when Cruz Antonio Guevara-Flores began fighting with his estranged wife over the custody of their young child. When the third person heard the fight he attempted to calm Guevara-Flores down, only to be stabbed by him. At that point the father grabbed his child and fled from the scene of the crime.

About two hours after leaving the home Guevara-Flores returned with the child, leaving him in the parking lot to be quickly discovered by police. He was apprehended around 6 a.m. and taken into custody on charges of second and third degree assault at the Aurora Municipal Jail.
