Man Denied Restraining Order Against Mayor

Although a man argued that Mayor William Lantigua swore at him and made rude gestures, the man's request for a restraining order has been denied.

Antonio Arevalo went before the judge on Thursday to plead his case and, although the judge did deem the mayor's actions "may be rather rude" they were not cause for a restraining order.  However, it did come to light during the hearing that Arevalo had been following the mayor around for several months prior to the rude comments. Arevalo also admitted that he had never actually been threatened by the mayor.

Lantigua did not attend the court hearing, sending his lawyer instead who called Arevalo's actions politically motivated. In fact they believe that he could be working with Lantigua's opponents to ruin his reputation.
