Child Custody Dispute Erupts in O'Hara
A child custody issue was at the center of a difficult police standoff last week that happened in O'Hara.
According to police reports a man locked himself in a Linwood home along with his 7-year-old child. He was upset about a child custody dispute that has been ongoing with his wife and tried to change her mind to no avail. Officers were called in and surrounded the house after a child custody worker called to alert them about the heated argument.
When they couldn't convince him to leave the house, the SWAT team was called in around 4:30 a.m. Finally, around 8 a.m. the standoff ended, without injuries, and the young boy was placed in his grandmother's custody. Luckily the wife and other children had left the home prior to the incident.
At this time authorities are not releasing the identity of the father.
