Pete Rose File for Divorce from Wife of 27 Years
The Associated Press recently released the news that Pete Rose, one of the MLB's legends, has just filed for divorce from his wife of 27 years.
In the court documents filed last week Rose, 70, cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their divorce. This would be divorce number two for Rose who married his wife, Carol, in 1984. At that time he was playing for the Phillies and she was a cheerleader for the Eagles.
As part of the filing Rose specifically states that he wants all memorabilia, as well as jewelry that he obtained before their marriage began. Although Rose wants Carol to pay for her own attorney he has stated his willingness to pay spousal support.
This may not have come as much of a surprise to those around Rose; however, as back in 2009 he announced his relationship with a much younger woman. This divorce may have been in the works for several years now, or at least the unraveling of the marriage.
