Former Football Player Wants Child Support Reduced

A judge confirmed the end of a famous football player's career last week in Texas. While this may sound negative in and of itself, it will actually help the athlete in the long run.
The former player went before a judge this week to have his child support payments reduced. He claimed that since he was no longer playing regularly in a national league, he was unable to make the payments for at least two of the four ongoing paternity cases in which he is involved.
While the judge did say that his professional football days appear to be over, he could be asked to join an arena team. If that happens, the issue of child support is likely to be revisited. A decision has yet to be made as to whether the child support payments will be reduced over the next year. Even if they are reduced, however, he will be expected to make up the difference down the road.
