Mother Seeks Restraining Order against Teacher
A teacher at a high school has been accused of sexually assaulting one of his students. When the mother of the student learned about the abuse, she moved quickly to obtain a restraining order against him.
The school also learned about the molestation and fired him immediately. Worried that he might try to attack the young girl in retaliation, the mother petitioned the court for a restraining order. She was granted a temporary order that will last until the next court hearing. Her desire to obtain a restraining order was not unwarranted, she said, since the teacher had been texting and calling her daughter without permission.
Based on the testimony of the young girl, police arrested the man on charges of molestation. He posted bail just before learning that he had lost his job at the Catholic school. The case is still under investigation by local police; the suspect could receive additional charges pending the outcome.
