| Posted By Law Office of Michael Young |
 |
Although their divorce has been at the center of Hollywood gossip for weeks now, it looks like Kelsey and Camille Grammer are finally calming down and working out the details like semi-peaceful adults.
They have both agreed to speed up their divorce and move on, which would mean that Kelsey would be able to wed girlfriend Kayte Walsh even sooner. After both sides worked with their respective lawyers the teams were able to draft up a preliminary divorce agreement that now has to be signed off by a judge. Their divorce will be finalized right away leaving the other details, like property and money issues, to be resolved at a later date.
It is possible that if both sides sign the settlement papers that Kelsey could marry Walsh by the end of February. However, whether this is what the star has is mind is still unsure as he is not returning calls to sources like ABCNews.com.
This quick settlement came as a shock to many who watched the nasty proceedings, including Camille's hint to Howard Stern that her husband likes to cross-dress.

| Appeals Court Rules That Texas Cannot Block Divorce Between Two Women |
| Posted By Law Office of Michael Young |
 |
An appeals court ruled on Friday that the Texas Attorney General cannot block the divorce between two women who were married somewhere else. Even though a lower court granted the divorce to Sabina Daly and Angelique Naylor, Texas Attorney General Gregg Abbot filed a motion to intervene the very next day.
Abbot argued that the lower judge didn't have jurisdiction to rule in this case as Texas has a constitutional ban on same-sex marriages. However, Abbot's motion was ruled as untimely and tossed out; he is currently seeking an appeal.
The appeals court ruled that since the state of Texas was not a party of record in this particular divorce case Abbott had no standing to appeal. Despite the appeals court ruling in this case, it still does not settle the matter at hand of whether same-sex couples should be allowed to divorce in Texas.
The two were married in Massachusetts in 2004 but decided to seek a divorce last February.

| Kelsey Grammar Not Having an Easy Time with Divorce |
| Posted By Law Office of Michael Young |
 |
Kelsey Grammar, star of "Frasier," is not getting off so easy during his latest divorce trial from wife Camille Donatucci. While the star wants to speed up the divorce so that he can marry his paramour, former flight attendant Kayte Walsh, the legal system is thwarting his every effort.
He is seeking "bifurcation," meaning that a judge would end the marriage to Donatucci, 47, despite the fact that their legal and financial matters haven't been settled yet. If he was granted bifurcation he would legally be single again and able to marry Walsh as soon as January 1, 2011. This would come nearly six months after his wife filed for divorce.
If Grammar is granted bifurcation the proceedings will be far from over as the issue of finances is certain to create drama between the two. Grammar and Donatucci were married for 13 years and did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement; their amassed fortune since then is estimated to be worth $100,000,000. This accounts for real estate holdings, his earnings from Frasier as well as the proceeds from their shared company Grammernet Productions.

| Child Custody Laws to Change in the State of Pennsylvania |
| Posted By Law Office of Michael Young |
 |
Child custody cases in Pennsylvania will now have to adhere to new legislation passed by Governor Ed Rendell this week. In cases of separation and divorce, House Bill 1639 is designed to ensure that both parents have an equal chance when determining child custody. The bill primarily states that custody cannot be awarded based on the gender of the child as has previously been the case.
This legislation will also demand that judges provide a written statement regarding why their made their decision for each child custody case. In addition, in cases where domestic violence has been proven or discussed, the courts will not be so lenient in granted custody.
Finally, those individuals who do not comply with their court-ordered visitation schedules and custody orders will face much harsher penalties, as much as six months in jail, suspension of driving rights, and a fine of $500.

The divorce between pop superstar Christina Aguilera and her husband Jordan Bratman has become more interesting as additional news is leaked regarding their separation. It appears as though Aguilera was unsatisfied with the way that Bratman was directing and contributing to her career choices, such as his advice regarding promotion and producing, as well as the way that he was handling their finances. Last Wednesday, it is said that Frank McCourt took the time to meet with a divorce mediator in an attempt to settle his divorce case, which has put the ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers into question.
Frank and his soon-to-be former wife, Jamie, concluded a second round of divorce mediation last week. However, it is said that they were not able to reach a settlement. Frank spent 90 minutes with the mediator, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Peter Lichtman, and Jamie was not in attendance.
At this time, the judge has refused to comment on the specifics of mediation, so it is unclear whether the recent meeting has led to any movement toward a divorce settlement between the couple.
If the couple is not able to reach a settlement, Judge Scott Gordon will have until December 28th to rule on who has ownership of the Dodgers.

According to the Associated Press, the divorce attorneys representing Frank and Jamie McCourt are expected to go through divorce mediation as soon as Friday in Los Angeles.
